ICT
Information and Communication Technology at Knightsbridge School is an exciting, diverse and creative subject. Emphasis is placed on teaching transferable skills that enable students to use ICT as a tool to produce well-presented work, communicate ideas effectively and to problem solve. The discerning user of ICT will be able to judge when it is appropriate to use a computer, will be confident in its use and help others by sharing their knowledge of the subject.
Making sure that forthcoming generations are up-to-date with new technology is always a challenge. Students at KS will be exposed to the latest software and hardware so that they will be equipped to deal with the ever-changing nature of the technological 21st Century.
All students in J1 to S8 have a discrete ICT lesson once a week with a specialist ICT teacher. ICT is extensively used in all other lessons in order to enhance the learning experience of other subjects and our cross-curricular projects ensure that both teachers and students are supported in their exploration of ICT.
At KS, we have two dedicated ICT suites that can accommodate full classes allowing each child access to a computer. These rooms can be booked out for lessons, are used for break and lunch private study. Reception classes have access to netbooks in their classrooms allowing individuals to explore ICT at any time. All classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards. Cameras, laptops, voting systems etc. can be booked out at any time.
