From the beginner to the skilled athlete, sport at Knightsbridge School offers every student the opportunity to participate and develop in a wide range of both team and individual sports.
-
Elite Facilities & Central London Advantage: Students benefit from two weekly Games lessons and an additional PE lesson, all utilising a variety of venues on our doorstep. We capitalise on our location to access first-class facilities like The Ethos Centre at Imperial College, where offerings are enhanced through activities like climbing. You can learn more about the facilities we use here.
-
Developing Proficient Athletes: Building upon the proficiency gained in core sports (rugby, cricket, football, hockey, netball) in Key Stage 2, students in Key Stage 3 are prepared to compete across a range of leagues and tournaments. As an ISA and IAPS affiliated school, our students have opportunities to participate in high-level championships in fencing, swimming, netball, table tennis, and a host of other sports.
-
Sport for the Whole Child: Physical education is essential to the development of the whole child. Our curriculum promotes self-esteem, confidence, and vital character strengths such as perseverance, resilience, teamwork, and leadership – all core components of the KS Code and our values-led education.
-
Academic and Transferable Skills: In Key Stage 4, students have the option to pursue the AQA 9-1 PE GCSE, extending their knowledge of physiology and tactical sports. Through this study, students acquire essential transferable skills, such as critical thinking, psychological understanding, and the ability to think and respond effectively under pressure.
-
A Lifelong Love of Activity: By developing healthy bodies and minds, students leave Knightsbridge ready to enjoy their journey, taking with them a love and appreciation of sport. We also celebrate children’s sporting achievements outside of school and give them the support they need to pursue these passions.
