FAQs

What is the difference between private school and independent school?

Independent schools are sometimes called private schools.

Private schools charge fees, and sometimes offer bursaries. Schools are called ‘independent‘ because of their freedom to operate outside government control in areas such as admissions, curriculum and assessment, although safeguarding and child protection requirements still apply.

Knightsbridge School is an independent school, which means we have the freedom to design a curriculum and experience that best suits our students.

Why should I choose a independent/private school for my child's education?

Independent schools like Knightsbridge School provide a personalised education, small class sizes, and access to exceptional opportunities that foster academic and personal growth.

How do independent/private schools involve families in the school community?
