Sustainability at KS

“I will remember to Recycle, Reduce and Reuse”- The KS Code

We are proud to be an ‘Eco School’. Eco Schools is an international programme of the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) that aims to “empower students to be the change our sustainable world needs by engaging them in fun, action-orientated and socially responsible learning.”

Curriculum

Our sustainability aims are weaved into our curriculum both in Science and in Life Skills. We look at how our actions can affect the planet and why. We also learn about how to protect our planet.

Our Staff

As a staff we work hard to ensure we are supporting out school to be Eco Friendly. We do not use disposable coffee cups or water bottles, we have had staff clothes swaps and we always ensure we keep printing at our school to a minimum.

Our Awards

We have proudly won a Gold Eco Schools award with distinction.

Earth Week

Every year we have a wonderful week dedicated to think about protecting our environment. In 2024 we had an amazing week where we focused on our oceans and how they support life on our planet. We had an amazing week where we had visits from Nick Gates, Mae Dorricott and many more as well as a workshop with a Beluga Sanctuary! We also all went  on trips to the Science museum and the Aquarium.
