An Eco School, Through and Through
Knightsbridge School is proud to be an Eco School, part of the international programme run by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE). The programme is designed to empower pupils to be the change our sustainable world needs, engaging them in fun, action-orientated and socially responsible learning – and that’s exactly the approach we take.
Sustainability in the Curriculum
Our sustainability aims are built into the curriculum, particularly through Science and Life Skills lessons. Pupils learn how human actions affect the planet and why, alongside practical ways to help protect it – turning environmental awareness into everyday habits rather than an abstract topic.
Our Staff and Eco Committee
Sustainability isn’t just something we teach – it’s something we practise. Staff avoid disposable coffee cups and water bottles, have run staff clothes swaps, and keep printing to a minimum across the school. Our pupil-led Eco Committee, voted in each term, meets weekly to audit and review how the school can continue to protect and improve the environment. Keen “Eco warriors” can also join our dedicated Eco Club.
Pupils have visited a local waste facility to learn how to reduce and recycle more effectively, run a toy swap to encourage pre-loved shopping, and carried out experiments exploring how to stop microfibres reaching the sea.

We’re proud to have been awarded a Gold Eco Schools award with distinction, in recognition of the school’s ongoing commitment to sustainability.
Earth Week
Every year, Knightsbridge dedicates a full week to environmental learning. In 2024, Earth Week focused on our oceans and how they support life on our planet, with visits from guest speakers, a workshop with a Beluga Sanctuary, and trips to the Science Museum and the Aquarium – giving pupils a genuinely memorable, hands-on introduction to environmental science.
