At Knightsbridge School, we believe that joy is the most important aspect in a child’s first educational experience. As an independent nursery school in London, we welcome our youngest learners into a vibrant, stimulating environment where the transition from home to school is handled with great care.
Beginning in the September after your child’s third birthday, our play-based curriculum is designed to spark curiosity while emphasising social interaction and cognitive development. The school day offers children a range of practical and creative activities to develop around four specific areas: Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World, and Expressive Arts and Design, providing the foundation for future learning.

We focus on learning through play, allowing each child to explore and learn at their own pace and fostering a genuine love of learning. Our curriculum is tailored to meet each child’s individual needs, promoting continuous growth in literacy, numeracy, and social skills. Children partake in French or Spanish lessons with specialist teachers, enhancing their linguistic abilities and introducing them to global cultures, with specialist-led sessions in Art, Music, Dance, and Drama so children can develop self-expression and creativity from an early age. Several times a week, we also take pupils to nearby parks and playgrounds for games and play, and our Forest School program encourages physical activity and a connection with nature.
As an independent private school in London, we maintain an open atmosphere and close relationship with parents, ensuring every child’s first educational steps are nurtured through encouragement and celebration. Our high staff-to-pupil ratio ensures each child receives dedicated attention within a clear structure, allowing us to maintain high teaching standards and provide strong pastoral care.
We know that for a 3-year-old, the bridge between home and school must be strong. We ensure you are a constant part of their journey through:
Choosing Knightsbridge School for Nursery offers your family a unique advantage: a seamless transition into Reception. By joining our Nursery community, your child begins a continuous educational journey. Our pupils enjoy a direct transition into Reception and our Junior School, allowing them to bypass the pressure of external assessments and interviews. They move upward with their friends, in a building they love, supported by teachers who have access to their ELGs. No development is lost, and your child’s unique character is already acknowledged before they even get through the door.
Child safety underpins everything in our Nursery, from supervised drop-off and pick-up to the close, consistent relationships our staff build with every child. If you have specific questions about our safeguarding arrangements, our Early Years team is happy to discuss these in detail during a visit.
We keep the bridge between home and school strong through weekly video highlights capturing your child’s “magic moments,” daily greetings at drop-off and pick-up, regular newsletters and written reports, and formal parent-teacher meetings, alongside a direct line of email communication.
Nursery pupils move directly into Reception and our Junior School, without external assessments or interviews. Children move up alongside their friends, in a building they already know, with teachers who understand their character from day one.
Our Nursery follows the Statutory Framework for the EYFS (2024), built around seven areas of learning delivered through a play-based approach, alongside specialist teaching in French, music, drama, dance and sport.
