Junior Performing Arts

At Knightsbridge School, we believe that the performing arts are a vital part of a holistic education. As a leading independent school in Knightsbridge, our creative curriculum is designed to inspire confidence, foster collaboration, and allow every pupil’s unique personality to shine.

We pride ourselves on an “all-rounder” ethos where every child is encouraged to ‘give it a go’. Whether your child is a budding lead actor or prefers the magic of technical production, there is a place for them to flourish. Our specialist teachers – many of whom have professional industry experience – guide pupils through a variety of disciplines including Music, Drama, and Dance.

Our Production Calendar

The performing arts calendar at KS is packed with opportunities for pupils to showcase their hard work and creativity:

  • The Year 4 Pantomime: A beloved highlight of the Autumn term, our Year 4 pupils bring festive cheer to the school with a high-energy performance before the Christmas break.

  • Junior Showcases: Pupils in Years 1-5 participate in annual Winter and Spring Showcases, building their performance stamina in a supportive environment.

  • The Summer Season: In the Summer term, our performance standards reach new heights with major productions. Recent hits include Mary Poppins and Shrek Junior.

  • The Chelsea Theatre Experience: To give our pupils a taste of the professional world, our Musical Theatre Company and Drama Company perform their summer shows at the renowned Chelsea Theatre. These audition-only groups allow pupils to work with full-scale sets, expert lighting, and bespoke costumes.

Our commitment to the arts extends beyond the stage. Through our performing arts programme pupils develop essential life skills:

  • Confidence & Wellbeing: Using the “KS Code,” we nurture resilient and happy performers.

  • Academic Innovation: We integrate modern technology into the arts, from music composition to digital set design.

  • Community Spirit: Whether it is the Interhouse Performing Arts Competition or the Show Choir performing at local landmarks like The Berkeley, our pupils remain deeply rooted in our local London community.
