Charitable Engagement

CRIS CANCER FOUNDATION

Charity fundraising is a huge part of everyday life at Knightsbridge School.

Each year, our pupils vote for the charity that they would like to fundraise for. This year, the KS chosen charity is Cris Cancer Foundation. The charity’s mission is to invest in scientific innovation and cutting-edge research to accelerate the discovery of cures and provide better treatments for people affected by cancer, especially rarer and underfunded cancers. Throughout the year we will raise money and awareness for this amazing charity with child-led initiatives.

In addition to this, Knightsbridge School also has three main charities which it supports every year: The Royal Hospital Chelsea, the Knightsbridge School Educational Foundation (KSEF), and Place2Be. The Royal Hospital is used by our children for sports lessons. Representatives and pensioners attend our Remembrance Service and fundraisers, and we ask all parents to join it as friends as there are lots of activities and events.

The KSEF provides four bursaries for local students who cannot afford the school fees. KS parents (50%) and Directors (50%) fund through donations/dinners/fundraisers and these children are funded from 11 till they leave their future senior school at 18.

We are pioneers as the first private day school to have Place2Be as our in-house counselling service for KS children, staff, and parents.

Knightsbridge School as a whole has a close relationship with The Kensington & Chelsea Foundation, which provides support for important local causes. We are one of the Founding Patrons and support many of their local charities.

The school, its pupils, and its Parents Association take part in many charitable initiatives each year: Jeans for Genes Day, World Book Day, RNLI, Remembrance, and World Mental Health Day. There are a number of exciting bake sales, movie nights, fashion shows, discos, entrepreneur events as well as a whole school-sponsored walk in Hyde Park. The children thoroughly enjoy all of the fundraising events throughout the year, and we are always so impressed with their charitable spirit and determination to raise funds both inside and outside school. Many of the pupils gift their birthday money or undertake triathlons, fun-runs, or lemonade selling to support their chosen charities.
