At Knightsbridge School, we believe sport is about confidence, variety, and making the most of our exceptional Central London location. Our dynamic sports curriculum ensures every child participates, progresses, and enjoys movement daily.
-
A Curriculum Beyond the Core: Students engage in Games lessons covering core team sports – football, netball, rugby, hockey, rounders, cricket, and athletics. Our PE lessons focus on holistic wellbeing, teaching children about their bodies, the importance of an active life, and a range of indoor disciplines, including judo, fencing, gymnastics, yoga, dance, badminton, basketball, volleyball, and squash.
-
London as Our Training Ground: We eliminate the need for an on-site sports pitch by instead training in premium London venues. This includes Burton Court, Battersea Park, and Imperial College Ethos Sports Centre, providing students with high-quality, varied facilities. You can learn more about the facilities we use here.
-
Daily Movement: Activity and play time is built into the school day, with regular sessions in local green spaces and the large sports hall in St Columbas opposite the school.
-
Competitive Spirit & Community: Starting from Year 2, students participate in competitive fixtures across London against local and country schools. They also engage in inter-house competitions in all core sports, swimming, and cross-country, culminating in our annual Sports Day. We encourage strong community involvement, welcoming parents to support our teams and even challenge staff in friendly staff vs. parent matches in sports like football, hockey, netball, and cricket.
-
Extracurricular Excellence: Our extensive extracurricular programme, led by specialist coaches, allows students to pursue core sports further or discover a new passion from our wider sports variety.
This approach ensures a broad sports programme with high-quality teaching , developing real-world confidence and celebrating every child’s sporting journey.
