Scholarships at Knightsbridge School
Pupils who have already joined the school and shown excellence in a particular area can be awarded a scholarship which will support them as they continue to achieve new heights in their field. Unlike an entry-point award, a Knightsbridge scholarship is assessed once a child is already at school, and is based on real, demonstrated performance. There is no monetary value attached, but a dedicated enhancement programme will watch over and support the child as they develop their exceptional talent.
Knightsbridge supports academic scholarships, sports scholarships and performing arts scholarships. In recent years, our pupils’ fantastic results have gone on to secure scholarship offers across the country’s leading senior schools.
What Is a Scholarship?
A scholarship is an award made in recognition of talent or achievement, rather than financial need (unlike our bursaries). At most schools, a scholarship comes with some form of recognition and support for the pupil’s area of excellence, though the details, whether that’s a fee reduction, additional coaching, or simply formal status, vary considerably from school to school.
At Knightsbridge, a scholarship carries no monetary value. What it does carry is real, practical support: scholars are given access to an enhancement programme designed to help them go further in their chosen area, whether that’s additional coaching on the sports field, more advanced instrumental tuition, or extra stretch in the classroom.
This extra support, delivered at a crucial developmental age, enables our leavers to go on to receive scholarships at some of the UK’s leading senior private schools, such as Harrow, Queen’s Gate and Alleyn’s.

Athletic and Sport Scholarships
Alongside football, netball, rugby, hockey, rounders, cricket and athletics, pupils can pursue disciplines including judo, fencing, gymnastics, climbing, swimming, rowing and tennis, often training at premium London venues such as Burton’s Court, Battersea Park and the Imperial College Ethos Sports Centre. That breadth has produced real results, including a Sports Scholarship to Alleyn’s in 2025 to 2026, and the standout story of alumnus Ben Wang, whose fencing journey at Knightsbridge is what the enhancement programme is built around: not just talent spotted, but given encouragement and a safe room to grow, leading to an Honorary Fencing Scholarship at Harrow School:
Academic Scholarships
Our academic scholars have gone on to some of London’s most competitive senior schools, including Queen’s College, James Allen’s Girls’ School, Alleyn’s, and Emanuel. These results reflect the rigour of our Junior and Senior curriculum, and the individual guidance our Future Schools team provides as pupils prepare for entrance examinations.
The Junior curriculum starts preparation well before exam season. Pupils follow the ISEB (Independent Schools Examination Board) syllabus throughout Year 5 and into the Autumn Term of Year 6, sitting the ISEB Pre-Test during that term before moving into the specific assessment processes required by their chosen senior schools. Senior members of staff work closely with each child throughout this process, taking into account their academic and non-academic strengths as well as their ambitions and personality, so that preparation is tailored rather than generic.
Performing Arts Scholarships
Music and drama run through school life at Knightsbridge, from private instrumental tuition and termly ABRSM examinations to the Trinity Drama Syllabus and regular performances across London. Junior pupils in our Musical Theatre company prepare for potential Acting Scholarships, while Senior pupils are directly supported in their applications for Music Scholarships.
Recent results include a Music Scholarship to Dulwich College, an Academic and Music Scholarship to Emanuel, and a Drama Scholarship to Queen’s Gate.
