Celebrating our Junior Mathematicians

Posted: 18th June 2026

At Knightsbridge, we foster an environment where intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and a genuine passion for STEM subjects can thrive. Recently, some of our Junior pupils showcased their mathematical skills on a competitive stage, and we are absolutely thrilled to celebrate a series of exceptional achievements from our pupils.

A talented delegation of our Year 5 and 6 girls demonstrated outstanding teamwork and incredibly sharp analytical skills at the Benenden School Primary Maths Competition. The challenges put their agility and logic to the ultimate test. Moving from high-speed mathematical relays that demanded rapid-fire calculation to the tricky task of “crossnumbers” (a crossword but with numbers!), our pupils tackled every single problem with immense enthusiasm and grit. Thanks to their combined focus and determination, the team secured a magnificent third-place finish.

Mathematical success continued individually with the release of the results from the highly regarded Junior Kangaroo Maths Challenge. This notoriously difficult national competition tests abstract problem-solving with questions that extend beyond the curriculum.

We are immensely proud to congratulate Mike and Licoln in Year 6 for their stellar individual performances:

  • Licoln (Silver Certificate): Awarded only to the top 20% of high-scoring students nationwide.

  • Mike (Bronze Certificate): Awarded only to the top 30% of high-scoring students nationwide.

These incredible milestones are a direct reflection of our pupils’ dedication, alongside the guidance of our excellent maths teaching team. You can learn more about the Junior curriculum at Knightsbridge here.
