On Thursday Miss Liz and four very excited Year 5 students (Taya, Sasha, Morgan and Dylan) set off for Bradfield College, a destination for several KS alumni, including Mr Otis and Miss Lola Giles. After taking three different modes of transport, we arrived at the beautiful Bradfield campus. After some juice and biscuits, we began the challenges. First, the students had to find out which environment maggots preferred. Then we moved on to Physics, where we had to design and make a loudspeaker. Despite beginning very skeptical that something made of paper, tape and a bit of wire would actually work, we were treated to a clear rendition of Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect”! Our design was praised for being different from everyone else’s; a testament to our creative thought.
Then we finished off with some Chemistry, where we measured temperature and drew a line graph. Finally, we were treated to a spectacular science show. Although we didn’t win the trophy, we still had a fantastic day.
