Meet the 2025-26 Knightsbridge School Captains

Posted: 10th September 2025

At Knightsbridge School, leadership is an integral part of the Senior School journey. We believe in empowering students to become compassionate, proactive, and well-rounded individuals ready for their next steps. It is with great pleasure that we introduce our new School Captains for 2025-26: Rio and Johnny.

Both Rio and Johnny joined us in Year 6 and 7, respectively, and have since become vibrant, active members of our community. As School Captains, they hold the highest level of student leadership, acting as powerful role models for our younger pupils and an important voice within our School Council. They were chosen by staff for their exceptional embodiment of the Knightsbridge School values and ethos.

Throughout the year, they will represent the school at a variety of events, delivering speeches at key occasions such as our Remembrance Service and Carol Service. They will also play a pivotal role in our school governance, helping to chair both the Junior and Senior Councils. Their journey is a testament to the fact that our senior school is a place where students truly flourish, not just academically, but as leaders.

As the new school year gets underway, we sat down with Rio and Johnny to discuss their journey and what they are most looking forward to.

What are you most looking forward to this year at KS?

  • Johnny: I love the Christmas Fair at St Columbas!
Rio: I am really excited for STEAM week, where we do hands-on activities based around science, maths, and technology.

What is one thing you are particularly looking forward to as School Captain?

  • Johnny: I am excited to get involved in chairing the Junior and Senior Councils, so I can hear different ideas and opinions from other children in the school.
Rio: I am looking forward to this exciting opportunity to learn and grow from this experience.

What is one piece of advice you would give to anyone who has just started at KS?

  • Johnny: Don’t be afraid to throw yourself into school life and try something new!
Rio: Remember that you’re not the only one feeling nervous when you first join; everyone feels the same. There will be lots of people there to support you, and you will quickly settle in.

Beyond the Classroom: Cultivating Leadership and Character

The roles of our School Captains are a clear example of how we foster leadership at Knightsbridge. Our extensive enrichment programme provides a wide range of opportunities beyond formal roles. From leading a sports team or a music recital to participating in the Duke of Edinburgh award, every senior school student is encouraged to step up and develop their skills.

This commitment extends to our vibrant school community. Our senior students regularly volunteer their time to read to younger pupils or assist with the Junior School Council. These initiatives provide invaluable real-world experience, teaching students the importance of service, mentorship, and community engagement. By developing these skills alongside a rigorous academic programme, our students leave us as well-rounded, confident individuals prepared for future challenges and responsibilities.

To learn more about how Knightsbridge School helps students flourish through our unique approach to academics, character, and enrichment, we invite you to experience our vibrant community in person.
