Detective Chief Inspector Heather Wilson spoke to our seniors about the skills and training involved in policing. Students asked a range of questions to the DCI from her thoughts on a range of topics from the right to protest to the impact of lockdown on crime rates.

Year 2 ‘boarded’ the Titanic and set sail for New York. They experienced what life was like in 1st, 2nd and 3rd class. Fortunately we managed to disembark before we hit an iceberg and made it safely home. This is part of Year 2’s enquiry topic.
In celebration of science week, children across the school made bath bombs, learning about the chemical changes that take place when a bath bomb is dropped into the water. She spoke with the students about international women’s day and answered lots of science questions…

We had great fun celebrating World Book Day 2021, our theme this year was ‘Inspirational People’ and in their English lessons, the children discovered inspirational figures from around the world and they researched and presented the people who have inspired and continue to inspire them. We had Seniors from ‘Book Club’ reading to Juniors, Storytime…
The children had a whole host of visiting authors last week (online), who shared snippets of their books, ran quizzes and shared their writing experiences with them. This year, we were visited by published authors: Chris Bradford, Lou Treleaven, Chitra Soundar, Nicolette Sheehan and Claudia White.
