Artist-In-Residence Edwina Bridgeman

Posted: 25th February 2016

From 8th to 12th February 2016 the Art Department hosted the artist Edwina Bridgeman. She led workshops with all pupils from J1 to S8 in which the children were encouraged to work creatively with a wide range of materials.

Edwina helped the children to think about the theme of birds in art and to question why birds have been such a source of inspiration for artists over the centuries. Some pupils made two dimensional work using paint pens and large sheets of vinyl while others created small sculptures of birds using paper, masking tape and spray paint.

The birds have been assembled on the school staircase in a large collaborative installation. As part of this project we were pleased to be able to offer two workshops with Edwina to one of our local primary schools, St Peter’s C of E School and KS children acted as ambassadors for this school during these sessions.
