Last week, Year 8 went to Madrid and stayed opposite the beautiful station of Atocha. We got to visit Atletico Madrid, the town of Toledo, the worldwide famous El Prado and Reina Sofia Museums, and Warner Brothers Adventure Park.

There was also time for sightseeing, food markets, shopping, a live flamenco show and we celebrated Eloise’s and Berks birthday! 🎉

What an incredible week for Y7 in Morzine! The sun never stopped shining and the children never stopped smiling 😁

White water rafting, kayaking, rock climbing, orienteering, local market, woodland skills, trek to Switzerland, High Ropes, and cable car ride. The students have worked on their resilience, independence, and team work. We have tried many different French foods 🥐 and the students have tried to converse in French whenever possible!

Mr. Hall, Miss Schonbeck, and Mr. Henry have loved the dances, raps, jokes, and games the students showed them in the evenings, and there may have been some pranks by the teachers on the last night! A fantastic week all round and we all earnt a nice break this weekend! 👏

Our Yr 9s and 10s spent the week in Venice and experienced everything the beautiful city had to offer including Venetian history, art, culture, and of course the delicious food! 🇮🇹 🍝🍦

Day 1: arrived and wandered around Venice, getting ice cream and visiting the Portuguese pavilion as part of the Venice Biennale. We enjoyed a delicious dinner overlooking the grand canal as the sunset.

Day 2: visited a couple more pavilions in Venice then made our way to the Giardini of the Venice Biennale. After a delicious lunch, we made our way to the Peggy Guggenheim Collection where we saw work as part of the Biennale and fantastic work by the greats such as Picasso, Joan Miró, and Jackson Pollock to name a few. After this, we enjoyed a gondola ride along the canals after a long day of walking and viewing amazing artwork. Collecting ice cream on our way back, we then enjoyed a traditional Italian dinner of pizza and pasta to finish off our day.

Day 3: we started our day with a private boat trip and tour to the islands of Murano and Burano. We watched a glass blowing demonstration and saw some famous Murano glass and in Burano saw some of the beautiful lace made there, viewed the amazingly colourful houses and tasted some delicious ice cream. Following a short break we spent the afternoon visiting St Mark’s Basilica, the Doge’s Palace, and then the Arsenale of the Venice Biennale. A mixture of classic and contemporary Art whilst also learning about the history of Venice. We enjoyed a pizza dinner and walked home via the Rialto bridge.

Day 4: a morning doing last-minute shopping (including a visit to the famously stylish Venezia FC official shop) and walking around Venice via the Rialto Bridge. We enjoyed some delicious Italian food before making our way back to the airport.
