On 12th September, Miss Yuna will be taking 13 other members of staff to take part in the Run the River event, a 5 or 10 km run in Central London: Miss Becky, Miss Coombes, Miss Louise, Miss Antonia, Miss Eila, Miss Hannah, Miss Lawson, Miss Anastasia, Miss Nikki, Mr Andy, Mr David, Mr O'Shea Jr and Mr Williams!

We will be raising money for Teach First to help fight social inequality. In the UK, the link between socio-economic background and poor educational attainment is greater than in almost any other developed country. You can help us support this cause by making a donation on the following link:

Sports Day 2016

We had a fabulous Sports Day at the Millennium Arena in Battersea Park. It was wonderful to see so much determination and so many happy faces. Despite the occasional light rain shower the children’s spirits were not dampened at all… they showed courage, fearlessness, fairness and integrity all day and can be so proud of how they competed. What an incredibly competitive, but most of all fun, Olympian-esque day of athletics and sports!

Chelsea Flower Show Knightsbridge School Tricycles

In collaboration with award winning garden designer Diarmuid Gavin, Mini Harrods ran a competition for children to design two gardens to form part of the Harrods Eccentric Tricycles display at the Chelsea Flower Show.

Diarmuid was so impressed with all the entries which were of such a high standard but there could only be two winners! A huge well done to all involved. They looked absolutely brilliant!

J1 Paintings Raise £10,000 for NSPCC

We are delighted to announce that the J1 Heart paintings, which were made in association with Mini Harrods last term, have raised £10,000 for NSPCC.

The beautiful artworks, created by our talented J1’s with visiting artist Ronald Diennet, were exhibited for two weeks in The Halcyon Gallery in Harrods and during this time visitors had the opportunity to make silent bids on the works.

NSPCC will use the money to help children and teenagers in vulnerable circumstances.

Entrepreneurs' Evening 2016

This year’s Entrepreneur Event, where children created, merchandised and sold their own products, was a huge success. The quality and hard work that the children put into the event was outstanding.

A big thank you to the three fantastic judges - Paul Deeming (Finance Executive), Harry Scrope (Brompton Bikes Managing Director) and Tabitha Webb (Fashion Designer). They were all blown away by the talent and professionalism of our young entrepreneurs.

A Week of Spectacular Junior School Productions

The J1 production of The Jungle Book (pictured) and the J3 productions of the classic musical Annie were a great success. All the children were totally professional whilst acting to packed audiences and there were some wonderful solo performances too.

Congratulations to all involved and a special well done to the Creative Arts department who produced yet more KS classics!

Artist-In-Residence Edwina Bridgeman

From 8th to 12th February 2016 the Art Department hosted the artist Edwina Bridgeman. She led workshops with all pupils from J1 to S8 in which the children were encouraged to work creatively with a wide range of materials.

Edwina helped the children to think about the theme of birds in art and to question why birds have been such a source of inspiration for artists over the centuries. Some pupils made two dimensional work using paint pens and large sheets of vinyl while others created small sculptures of birds using paper, masking tape and spray paint.

The birds have been assembled on the school staircase in a large collaborative installation. As part of this project we were pleased to be able to offer two workshops with Edwina to one of our local primary schools, St Peter’s C of E School and KS children acted as ambassadors for this school during these sessions.

Table Tennis Evening at St Columba’s

The Knightsbridge School sports department and Darius Knight, an Olympic table tennis player and our resident professional coach, hosted a brilliant evening of table tennis on Thursday, featuring our U11 and U13 teams as well as squads from various neighbouring prep schools.

The hall was a sight to behold, with dozens of table tennis tables set up and a great number of boys, girls and parents in attendance. Our U11 and U13 teams managed to win every game they played.

Finishing undefeated was a fabulous achievement and both age groups ended the night as champions. What an evening!

1st & 2nd XI Football Masterclass

It was an unbelievable privilege to have ex-Arsenal and England legend Sol Campbell lead a masterclass for the 1st & 2nd XI footballers.

The boys had an absolutely brilliant time, picking up some superb skills, revelling in the fantastic coaching session and they all loved the fascinating Q&A at the end too!
